Stella Christou

Stella is a PhD candidate in Political Science and Sociology at the Scuola Normale Superiore (SNS) and membre of the Center of Social Movement Studies (COSMOS). She is currently working on the social and political ramifications of austerity on públic health, with a particular emphasis on Health care activism in Southern Europe. She attained her BA in Archaeology & Anthropology and her MA in Medical Anthropology from the University College London (UCL). During her undergraduate and postgraduate studies, Stella was involved in coordinating Research Reading Groups on ‘Anthropology in times of Crisis’ (2013) and ‘Existential Anthropology’ (2015).

Research interests: Health care activism, públic health, austerity, biopolitics, and solidarity economy
